The snake enemies stay low to the ground - it's nearly impossible for them to hurt you. Take them on carefully and know that they stop for literally nothing, other than you jumping on their face and killing them, of course. Make sure to not collide with them while airborne in attempts to kill them. The bouncing blue enemies located on this level are probably the most annoying foes thus far (other than maybe the Hornets). Even then, if you time the Hornet's limited movements correctly, it shouldn't be too much of a challenge. The one that will probably give you the biggest trouble is the N in KONG, which is suspended in the air over a Hornet. Speaking of the KONG tokens, all four of them are right out in the open in this stage, all easy to find. If you can't seem to get to where you're going, or if an enemy, some Bananas or a KONG token is out of reach, use the tires in the area to get to what you need.

This level relies greatly on tires planted halfway into the ground that act as jumping tools (springboards, really). You'll find this level to be incredibly straight forward and simplistic.

Stop here to speak with the old, constantly upset Ape to learn more about the game and your quest. See the Bonus Areas section for more on those. Check out both bonus sections on this stage, the first entitled Find the Exit! and the second entitled Stop the Barrel. It's not as hard to get as it might seem. You have to get a hell of a running start and jump perfectly (while holding the B Button down) to nab the G. The letter G is suspended above the exit to the stage. The KONG letters for the extra life are all out in the open (the N being available both in the stage out in the open and at the end of the first Bonus Area in the level) except for the letter G. Otherwise you'll find this area (literally) impossible to beat. Jump from one to the next, making sure to hold down the B Button while jumping for considerable extra distance. Near the end of the stage, you will have to jump rope-to-rope while avoiding flying Hornet enemies in front of each rope. If you go into the first Bonus Area of the level (see the Bonus Areas section of the guide for more on that), you will miss the stage's Continue Barrel. Make sure to keep your eye peeled for the Animal Token on a semi-hidden palm tree to your left as you swing across on the rope! The first swinging rope you come to will bring you to the other side of a chasm and through some bananas.

Keep an eye out for them, especially when they're rolled up in a ball and coming at you full speed. They are sneaky and fairly tough to kill because they move so rapidly and often. The Armadillo-like enemies here are some of the most annoying enemies in the game. When you jump to them and grab hold, you find that they are swinging ropes, allowing you to get to and fro over chasms and other obstacles. Watch your step and make sure not to fall in! There are ropes on this stage that appear to be off-center. If you don't, you'll come to a large chasm that you can't cross otherwise. Near the beginning of the stage, you have to climb up the rope you first come across to the palm trees above, and then across to continue the stage. Then you can work your way upwards and downwards along the rope as needed, jumping off, grabbing hold of things, et cetera.

To climb them, simply jump up on them and press up to grab hold. There are a lot of ropes and such on this stage. Barely a test for expert gamers, but it can be tricky for those not yet used to the game. The jumps near the end of the stage can be dangerous if you're not careful. The greatest challenge you'll find here in the enemy department is provided by the coconut-throwing enemy protecting the Animal Token about midway through the stage.Ĭheck out both bonus sections on this stage, the first entitled Find the Exit! and the second entitled Stop the Barrel. Make sure to smash open the box he's in and use him to your advantage!ĭon't forget to hit the Continue Barrel when you pass it - you never know when you may perish! The enemies found here shouldn't prove to be too difficult. You'll have your first chance to ride one of your animal friends here - Rambi the Rhino. At the beginning of the stage, throw and destroy the DK barrel to find one of your friends, Diddy Kong.Īs you should always do on each stage, collect as many Bananas as you can. Make sure to grab all of the KONG letters they're nearly impossible to miss.
